Introducing my new favourite fragrance! None other than the Spicebomb by Vikor & Rolf. If i remember correctly, the first time i caught whiff of this grenade-like cologne, was at Tokyo”s Haneda Airport duty free section. And for the looooooooooooongest time i was kicking myself over it for not getting it then. I was tinkering about for probably a good half hour and walked away – regretfully. And when i was back in KL, this fragrance can’t be found. Viktor & Rolf is indeed a very scarce brand in Malaysia. The packaging. OH SO COOL right? Absolutely photogenic, and picture yourself spritzing with a grenade. Haha.
But thankfully, my friend was doing his travels and got it for me when he was at the Dubai’s airport! Whoop de woo! It’s a tad more pricey than the usual brands but so worth it for the unique smell that Calvin Klein or Hugo Boss can’t match. I’m not bashing those colognes but they are abit too popular for their own good. If that makes any sense? It’s a challenge to put the scent to words but i would describe it as spicy/smokey and almost unisex. Your girlfriend can wear it without a problem and it’s not that type of scent that screams I’m Macho Macho Man. Not at all. If anything, it’s alluring with it’s variety of spices’ notes.
Plucked this out from sephora.com for reference.
Bergamot, Grapefruit, Cinnamon Leaf, Pink Pepper, Lavandin, Chilli, Saffron, Elemi, Vetiver, Balsam Fir, Tobacco Accord, White Leather Accord.
Explosive. Addictive. Seductive.
And in the background, are my other go-to fragrances. If you are thinking about getting a gift for your guy friend or significant other. Do consider these too! Burberry Brit for Men, this is probably my third bottle and the first fragrance i ever bought and has become a staple in my collection. And because the bottle is so sturdy & compact, i throw it around my gym bag. Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier which is very old so the scent is a bit off but heck, it’s still smell amazing but it takes a while to settle. And last but not least, Marc Jacobs’ Bang Bang! Absolutely adore this one as well, the pictures do not do the bottle justice as the light wasn’t hitting it at the right places. I definitely preferred this second version which is more woody and fresh smelling compared to his first “Bang” which was more of a sweaty scent?
